President's message
It's been another year, and the Sien Lok Society would like to invite you to our 2026 Annual General Meeting to be held on Wednesday October 28, 2026. This year's event will be held at Regency Palace Restaurant - 328 Centre Street S, with the reception. Starting at 6:00 pm, and the dinner commencing at 6:30 pm. $35 per person. The event includes a 10 course Chinese banquet, approval of financial statements for the past fiscal year, voting for any additional Directors, Sien Lok highlights of the past year.
There are many benefits to Sien Lok membership, including promoting Chinese-Canadian heritage, taking part in charitable and fundraising events, gaining valuable work experience, attending social functionsand business networking. But most of all, it is truly is a wonderful opportunity to create bridges within our community and to embrace the "joy in giving". Sien Lok Society of Calgary raises funds to maintain and preserve Sien Lok Park in Chinatown, preserving Chinatown and building relationships with the Chinese community.

Preserving Chinese Canadian Heritage: Sien Lok Society of Calgary
Welcome to the Sien Lok Society of Calgary, an inclusive space devoted to Chinese culture in the heart of Calgary! We strive to preserve the values of cultural diversity by promoting the Chinese Canadian culture throughout Canada. We function as a not-for-profit entity focused on the values of historic preservation, cultural diversity, cooperation, harmony, and family. As a charitable organization, we organize donation or fundraising drives for various social causes like the Cancer Society, to give back to our community. We invite you to join us in the betterment, promotion, and preservation of the Chinese Canadian culture.
Our Journey
Sien Lok Society was incorporated in 1968 as a response to a threat to Calgary’s current Chinatown. The present Chinatown is the third site in Calgary; the first one was destroyed, and the second one was moved. Without the help of community associations 50 years ago, Calgary would not have a Chinatown.
Through various donations and some government funding, we are able to give back to our community in Calgary. Each of our members is driven towards the sole motive of establishing broad ties with our culturally diverse communities. Throughout the year, we conduct many activities and initiatives for the involvement of interested individuals in the Chinese Canadian culture.
